How we research, check and review everything we publish, so you can decide how much to trust it.
Where our information comes from
Everything we say about an employer comes from its own official website or another reliable source. Facts about how apprenticeships work come from government and official bodies, like GOV.UK, apprenticeships.scot, gov.wales and nidirect. Every profile and guide lists its sources, with the date we checked them, so you can look for yourself.
Numbers and figures
We include figures like pay, programme lengths, numbers of apprentices and pass rates when they help you compare options. Every figure comes from a source we link to, and shows what that source said when we checked. Figures change, especially pay, so always check the source before relying on one.
How we label things
- Apprenticeships an employer offers are based on its official pages when we last checked. They don’t mean applications are open, or that the same programmes will run next year.
- Previously documented means we found evidence of a programme in the past, but couldn’t confirm it on the employer’s current site.
- Entry requirements only appear when a source states them. If they were published for a particular year or role, we say so.
- Our own tips, like research advice, are clearly labelled so you can tell them apart from facts about the employer.
Review dates
Every profile, industry page and guide shows when we last reviewed it against its sources. That’s not a promise everything is still current, because employers change their programmes and requirements. Always check the official source before you make a decision.
Independence
We’re independent. We’re not a recruitment agency, we don’t list job vacancies or take applications, and no employer we write about has sponsored, endorsed or paid us. We only use employer names to say who we’re talking about.
Spotlighted employers and guides are our own picks. They’re not rankings, awards or adverts.
How we use AI
We sometimes use AI tools to help draft or organise content. Nothing goes live until a person has checked it against the sources and edited it. Anything that hasn’t been checked stays unpublished.
Spotted a mistake?
If you think something’s wrong or out of date, please tell us. We fix mistakes quickly and update the review date when we do.
