Employer profile EY UK apprenticeships One of the Big Four professional services firms, working in assurance, consulting, strategy and tax. Its school leaver apprenticeships include Level 7 routes rated outstanding by Ofsted, and it asks for GCSE English and maths plus three A levels.
Assurance
Another name for audit and related checking work at professional services firms. EY calls its audit business Assurance.
Ofsted
The inspectorate for education and training in England, including apprenticeship training. EY says Ofsted rates its Level 7 apprenticeships outstanding.
Online assessment
Timed tests many employers use early in the application process, such as reasoning, numbers or how you like to work. Some are game-based.
Feedback
Comments from an employer on why your application or interview wasn't successful. It's worth asking for, because it helps your next application.
Find an apprenticeship
The official government apprenticeship vacancy service. England and Wales each have their own version. Many big employers also recruit through their own careers websites.
Fixed-term contract
A job that ends on a set date, such as the end of the apprenticeship. Ask what happens when the apprenticeship finishes.
