Overview
EY is one of the “Big Four” professional services firms. It checks companies’ accounts, advises on tax, and helps organisations with strategy and change. Its apprenticeships are aimed at people thinking about their next steps after school, or looking for an alternative to university.
Where you could work
EY splits its work into service lines: Assurance (including audit), Consulting, EY-Parthenon (strategy) and Tax. There are also Business Enablement teams, which run EY itself. You earn a salary from day one and get support from mentors, buddies and an early careers community.
What you need
You need GCSE English language and maths at grade 4 (C) or above. For business and degree apprenticeships, you also need three A levels or five Scottish Highers (or equivalent). Offers depend on getting the grades you predicted, and EY checks on results day.
How the process works
You apply online, then do timed online assessments. If you’re shortlisted, you’re invited to an in-person Experience Day at an EY office, and some programmes have a final interview two to three weeks later. You can only have one application open at a time, and EY can’t sponsor visas for apprentices.
What they do
EY is a professional services firm. In the UK its business areas, which it calls service lines, are Assurance, Consulting, EY-Parthenon (strategy) and Tax, supported by Business Enablement teams that run the firm itself.
